WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO:
Bay Area German Shepherd Rescue is a dedicated team of volunteers with many years of experience owning, training, evaluating and living with the German Shepherd Dog and similar herding/working breeds.
The dogs in our program come from shelters or from owners that can no longer care for their dog.
Each dog that comes into our program is carefully evaluated, vetted, and placed into a foster home where we learn more about them. Once we have spent some time getting to know each dog, we make the dog available for adoption.
When you apply to adopt one of our dogs, you will go through an adoption process where we learn more about you, your experience and your lifestyle. We are committed to finding the perfect match for our dogs and our adopters. We want our dogs to find their forever home and never face abandonment again.
The Bay Area German Shepherd Rescue team has fostered and saved almost two thousand German Shepherd Dogs, including Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherds, Belgian Shepherds, Anatolians and GSD blends. While many rescues are much larger than we are, our love and compassion for the dogs is infinite.
YOU CAN HELP!
There are many ways to help and every single one of them is important.
Fosters allow us to learn more about a dog prior to placing the dog in an appropriate home. Fostering a dog saves lives and allows another shelter or displaced dog to get a second chance.
Donors provide the much needed funding for the Rescue to thrive. ALL donations go directly to caring for the dogs; we have no paid personnel. Every donation, large or small, allows us to continue to save these wonderful dogs.
Volunteers keep us moving forward. We are always looking for like-minded people that want to help. There are many ways to volunteer and we do our best to find our volunteers ‘jobs’ that are rewarding and empowering.
