Big Girl is a 1.5 - 2 year old female German Shepherd / Sled Dog mix who was dumped on a rural highway.

She made her way to a kind family who searched in vain to find her owners, sadly without having any luck.

Big Girl is a very affectionate dog who loves everyone she's met. She meets you with a wagging tail and a big husky grin.

When she first arrived with her rescuers this happy girl had little-to-no training and was afraid to come inside the house.

When they showed her the front door she put her paw inside the house and sniffed, but would not come inside.

Happily much has changed since then, she now comes in, and is calm inside the house. Big Girl loves to go on car trips to go to hiking. She rides very well in the car and is doing much better not pulling on leash walks.

This girl loves children and has done well with visiting grandkids. Please note that she is a strong untrained dog so if she is to live with kiddies its best if they are old enough that they wont be easily knocked down.

Big Girl is a courtesy posting. Her foster family says she stays inside their fence and has not tried to run off, even though there are lots of interesting wild animals in the area.

They tell us she acts puppyish and her bark is more like a Husky than a GSD.

Big Girl easily passed our evaluation. She met our evaluator's male German Shepherd. She did well with a structured meeting, where both dogs had time to sniff and get to know one another.

We expect that Big Girl could easily live with another dog.

Big Girl is living near the coast in San Gregorio.
