Hi, I’m Gentry! I am a 3 year old, easy going, mellow dude who loves the company of other dogs and people. I’m not dependent on either, but I do like both species.
As for cats, I was tested with Test Kitties, and I did well; I actually followed the kitties around the house, all by myself, and I even strayed off of them to explore other things. My foster mom says the cats are very dog savvy and know how to act around dogs. My people say I am cat-workable.
I am now healthy, but I still need to gain weight; I’m working on that. I might acquire more energy once I put on weight, but right now I’m happy to chill in the house or in the yard.
I play with other foster dogs throughout the day, and I don’t demand much at all. Well, I do like affection from people. I’ll sidle up to my mom and then stare at her many times throughout the day, but she either looks directly into my eyes and says nice things, or she just scratches my chest; either way, I’m very happy.
When I’m outside, I like to play with a tennis ball. I will retrieve it, but I don’t give it back unless there are two. I don’t resource guard my toy; I just never learned how to play with only one.
I haven’t met a person I didn’t like, and I am pretty well-mannered. I don’t jump on people, and I don’t lick faces. Sometimes, though, I do stand on my foster mom’s lap to get more love. I sleep in a crate at night even though I am trustworthy and housebroken. I like car rides and settle in quite nicely for however long the excursion.
Mom says I’m an “8” on a scale of 1-10. If I would come when I were called 100% of the time, I’d be the perfect dog. :)
