Foss is a handsome male German Shepherd who is 6 years old. He is a big boy who weighs about 100 pounds. Foss can be described as a gentle giant with a super chill demeanor. He has lived with one owner since he was a puppy but now needs to find a new home due to changes in his owner’s living situation. Foss currently with lives with a female husky mix. He gets along great with her. He also is friends with a visiting small dog who is a pug mix.
Foss knows basic commands, sit, down, and shake. He is house trained and rides great in the car. Foss loves going on leash walks. He is easy to walk and doesn’t pull (check out his video). His owner tells us that he has been around rambunctious children who climbed all over him and he did just fine with that.
During his evaluation Foss met our test dog, a male German Shepherd. Foss was excited to see him and pulled a little bit, but after a short time both dogs had some sniffs and then just hung out and basically ignored each other. We feel that Foss could live as an only dog or with a dog that is the right match for his energy.
We have tested him with cats. He just stares at them and does nothing! he even allowed one to walk right up to him! He also lived with a chinchilla earlier in his life.
For interested adopters, Foss is a mellow “hang out” kind of a dog who wont need a lot exercise or training. He is happy just being with his people and having some walks in the park or about town.
Foss is currently living with his foster family in Novato
