This is a courtesy posting for our friends at the Woof Project.  Please note that if you are interested in Diesel you will need previous Malinois or high drive working breed experience and no kids under 12.

Diesel is an approx. 2yr old, neutered male Belgian Malinois. He is a big, strong boy, weighing about 60 lbs, with a sweet, fun-loving personality.

Diesel is non-reactive with other dogs and will initiate play. He has been working on basic manners at his foster home and learning to walk on a leash. He exercises daily with 2 mile runs or a spin around the orchards next to a bike. He is a fast learner and loves to use his nose! He shows potential for nosework fun.

Diesel has been sharing a home with a female Mal and a female Dutch Shepherd of similar size and age. There has been NO aggression with food, toys, ball, kennel or attention. In the yard, he loves to play ball, romp with the dogs or follow you around. When the family isn’t home, he hangs out in a 10x10 outdoor kennel with things to chew on to keep him busy. If left alone for long periods, he will find things to chew up or dig. He also loves to fixate on cats so we recommend a home without them or small dogs. He will give chase to squirrels and raccoons. In the house, he is crate training and sleeps through the night in his fosters bedroom, as he prefers to have his people in sight. He has not had any accidents in the house and will settle nicely by your feet.

Diesel interacts well with school age children and greeting new people in the home but does need supervision with kids due to his size. Diesel rides in a car well but for long trips does better in a crate as he wants to chew on everything. Diesel still needs lots of work on impulse control, learning “stay” and “wait”, getting exposure to new environments and continued manners/obedience training. He generally takes everything in stride and warms up quickly to new things. He is an awesome active companion with a big heart!
