Seiko just came into the program. Needs to be spayed, microchipped, heartworm test

Seiko is a 1 year old female GSD/Belgian Malinois. She came to us weighing a plump 98 lbs, about 25 lbs overweight (we are working on it). Seiko is just a little shy of new things but recovers very quickly. She is very people friendly and dog friendly, having lived with other dogs and children. We have not yet tested her with smaller dogs or cats however she has not shown much of a prey drive at this point. Seiko is NOT a high drive dog. (Owner claimed her children could pull her ears and ride her and “she was fine with it” – Ugh.

Seiko needs basic obedience training. She pulls HARD on the leash and will need an owner that will give her structure and boundaries.

Seiko has lived outside, possibly chained. She will most likely need to be house trained. We will be working on her crate training.

With good structure, an owner with large breed experience, and some basic obedience training, Seiko will be on her way to being a very nice family dog.

Seiko is currently kenneled at Petaluma Animal Services but will be moving to a foster home in Lake County. We are still learning about her.
