Gia is a striking 2 year old female German Shepherd who is living in Saratoga. She was raised by her owner since she was a puppy, but now due to difficult circumstances she needs to find a new home.

Gia is house trained, crate trained and rides well in the car. She is good with meeting people and overall is a lovely dog. She currently lives with a Pomeranian and a 2 year old child.

Gia is an athletic, high energy dog who loves chasing sticks. She is used to running off leash for exercise. With the changes in her life she is just starting to learn to walk on leash. If left to her own devices she will pull very hard but during her evaluation (with an experienced handler) she quickly responded to correction and walked nicely.

During her evaluation Gia was not leash reactive around dogs at the park but she did pull hard to try and see them. She lived with another big dog when she was young, but in recent times she’s been an only dog and we feel she could use a refresher course in meeting strange dogs.

Gia’s ideal home is one with people who have some training experience who can provide her with daily exercise and mental stimulation. She is a smart dog and needs structure to help her transition to her new home. Her new family will need to establish rules and boundaries and work on building her social skills.

Although she is fine with the resident small dog in her current home we feel she may be too high energy to be a good match for a home with small dogs. In addition, no cats for this girl.

If you would like to adopt this gorgeous girl, you'll need to commit to some training with her. She has the basics in place and is crate trained.

Gia is spayed, up to date on her shots and microchipped.
