Sadie is a 90lb, 2 year old female GSD who is socialized with other dogs, kids, cats, and adults. She does well meeting new people and allowed full body handling from her evaluator and unfamiliar children. She is food motivated and took treats gently. She will, reportedly, do "anything" for the tennis ball!
During her evaluation, she ignored strangers and met the evaluator very nicely. She was non-reactive towards other dogs on the leash. She greeted children with licks and tail wags and seemed to enjoy being petted.
Her current owner reports that she lived with a young child, another dog, and a cat (a few months ago). She has been attending the dog park and going on some walks but should have more activity than this.
Sadie has a normal energy level for a 2 year old Shepherd and will do best in a social family where she gets to go on outings around town. Her new adopter should be prepare to provide daily long walks, hikes, or runs meet the normal exercise needs of a Shepherd. She would be best with kids over age 5 due to her large size.
Overall, Sadie is a beautiful, sweet dog who should make a nice companion for a family with GSD experience. She is a classic GSD who should make a nice dog for most active families.
Sadie is a courtesy post and is currently living with her owners in Gilroy.
Unfortunately, she is being rehomed because her owner cannot have dogs in her apartment.
