Chase is a 65lb, 1 year old male GSD who friendly and affectionate with other dogs and people. He appears to have been well socialized and does well meeting new people and other dogs. Chase has a nice, even temperament but could use additional basic training.
During his evaluation, he ignored strangers nd met the evaluator very nicely. He was non-reactive towards other dogs and did a very nice job meeting on the leash. He greeted the other dogs with sniffs and muzzle licks.
Currently, he lives with a four year old boy and is very patient and tolerant with him. We think he will do very well in a family with children.
Chase has a low to medium energy level for a Shepherd and will do best in a social family where he gets to go on outings around town. Chase should attend a basics training class to brush up his skills. He has an old injury to his right rear leg that does not seem to cause him and pain and the shelter vet thinks he will not need any treatment for it. Therefore, he's unlikely to be able to keep up with highly strenuous activity on a regular basis but will enjoy trips to the dog park and walks. That should be just fine with him since he seems to be a pretty easy going boy.
Overall, Chase is a sweet and loving youngster who should make a nice companion for a family with large breed experience.
He appears to have an exceptional temperament and should bring his adopter lots of smiles.
