*Courtesy Posting* - Handsome Sawyer has not had a stable beginning, but is ready for his luck to change and a new life to begin. He is beautiful German Shepherd mix who has their long stride and power. He also has a sweet temperament, somewhat shy at first, but attentive once he gets to know you. This is a dog who takes relationships seriously.

Sawyer will do best in an active, adults only home. He'd make a great hiking or running buddy. He's also a young, strong guy who doesn't always keep his exuberance in check; he can be quite mouthy and a handful to manage. He's just too much dog to live with small children.

Sawyer is interested in other dogs, but doesn't know how to interact appropriately with them. He can be either overwhelming or conflicted. The good news is that he hasn't shown any leash frustration, but the dog park would definitely not be the right venue for him. He might get along with a very well matched dog, otherwise he could happily live in a home without other dogs.

At just over 2 years old, Sawyer is really just getting over adolescence. He may be a bit of a challenge, but he's smart! And he has great potential, he's a quick and motivated learner! He already has some training and even knows some trick. An experienced, committed adopter, who will give him guidance, structure and a job to do (agility, scenting, flyball, etc), will be richly rewarded.

Sawyer is just waiting for the right family to change his life.  he is currently doing really well in his foster home, check out the pictures below!

Sawyer is at the Marin Humane Society.   Please give them a call if you're interested in knowing more about Sawyer.  (415) 883-4621
