Zippo just told us that he signed a new sponsorship deal with Susan Tognolini!!
Noelle Lau just sponsored little Zippo and he says a big thank you to Noelle!
Zippo is an owner surrender to us. When we popped him out of his way-too-small-crate, a whole new world presented itself. Zip met a few people, and then a few dogs, and then he was off. Playing. Chasing. Pulling other dogs' tails. Rolling on the ground. Playing in the water bowl. Barking. (Are you getting the idea he is a puppy??)
Now that Zippo has been with us for a few weeks, we know a bit more about him. First, he is very intelligent. Second, he has more than average puppy energy. Third, his new owners will need to have former experience with challenging puppies.
Zippo's foster family has fostered about 15 puppies for us. They say that this is, by far, the most challenging puppy they've had. He repeatedly runs after a toy, picks it up and returns it to his person. He does not like being without his human outside and he makes a LOT of noise to voice his displeasure. :) His foster family plays mental games with him to exercise his brain; they hide his favorite toy in the house or yard, and tell him to find it; he does. He will need lots of individual time with his family members to get the consistency and leadership necessary for a smart, working breed puppy.
Zippo LOVES to play in water. He is also good with cats.
Zippo is darling. Everyone will fall in love with him because he's a puppy and he's darling. However, Zippo is going to need a seriously dedicated adult to train him, exercise and socialize him, and keep him mind busy throughout every day. We know he will be a good dog, but these early weeks and months are extremely important, especially because he is very smart.
