Reko, pronounced Rico, came to us from Santa Barbara Humane Society. He was a shelter favorite and spent a lot of time with one particular volunteer, Lauralea. Lauralea worked with Reko for several weeks, hoping that he would become a scent detection dog. Reko didn't have what is required; he was too much of a moosh-pot/lover.
Reko loves to play ball. This is the most important thing in his life; he interacts and fetches nicely, however sometimes he just doesn't want to give up his ball. He might make a good sport dog in agility or scent work. He's not intense, but he has energy to spare. He can be calm in the house and in the yard, but only with appropriate, daily exercise. Due to his energy level and love for toys, no small children in Reko's new family.
Reko is very friendly with everyone he's met. He has met many a dog and is good with all of them. He is not good with cats.
Reko has nice manners. He is house trained and is completely crate trained. He would do best with someone who is home much of the time or with someone who keeps him very busy and thus tired.
Reko is about 2 years old; he's a size large male with sable black and tan coloring. He's in the east bay until he finds his furever.
