Kayla just joined us as an owner surrender.  She's two years old, a petite little girl and pretty darn cute.

When Kayla came to our volunteer's house to be evaluated, Kayla immediately jumped into her new friend's lap.  Yes, she's that friendly.  She lived with adults and had visiting children in her life, and she was good with all.  Her previous owner feels Kayla was naturally protective of the small children she spent time with.

Kayla is house trained and has fairly nice manners.  It's very possible she would chew on a pair of shoes or other inappropriate things, but a good exercise routine would likely thwart that behavior.  She is young, energetic and untrained, so she will need a good leader to guide her in the right direction.  She will jump up on people, but it's primarily for attention when other foster dogs are also vying for attention.

She can be overwhelmed by lots of other energetic dogs; to be fair to her, she isn't a dog park dog.  She is, though, good with 3 or 4 other dogs at a time.  She met Test Kitty and passed with flying colors.

While Kayla needs training, we think she'll be a fairly easy student.  We're rating her a level 2 because she's a very nice dog.
