This is a courtesy post for the Humane Society of Sonoma County. Please contact them for more information about these dogs and for instructions on how to adopt them. You can read more about them on their website.

Bunny and Hef came to us from Northwest SPCA in Oroville. They are a seriously sweet pair; Bunny is the yin to Heff's yang. Bunny is gentle, sensitive, and very mellow. She enjoys hanging out in the behavior office with a bully stick, soliciting pets between naps and sniffing. She's the perfect office companion. Hef is gregarious and goofy, and all about the cuddles. He's strikingly handsome, and has a very charismatic personality. His most charming trait, however, is his undying devotion to Bunny. He absolutely adores her and it's very obvious in the way he greets her and always makes sure to check in with her on walks.

These two complement each other perfectly, and are very easy to care for. They've lovely to walk, not strong pullers, and don't become easily overwhelmed by their environment.

As far as their adoptive home, we think they would thrive in an environment that would allow them a secure place to explore and wander once they've finished their HW treatments. No apartments or condos. A home with a sensible backyard and a few walks a day would work well.

These guys are good with large dogs (not tested with smaller dogs at HSSC), good with kids of all sizes, and very friendly & outgoing with people. NO cats though.

Overall they are truly wonderful dogs!

Aside from their heartworm status, Bunny & Hef are healthy. They are altered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccines. Both of them have a missing left ear tip, and we have no idea why! They arrived at the shelter in Oroville that way and it remains a mystery, as they were both intact, but it doesn't seem to bother them one bit.

If a bonded pair sounds interesting, please check out the adoption information page.
