My name is Tarzan! My new friends got me out of the shelter and are helping me find a new home. My shelter paperwork says I’m 2 years old; but it’s likely that I’m closer to a year or a year and a half. I’m a big, chubby puppy and weigh about 80 pounds. I'm a healthy boy and have a thick, shinny coat.
I had a joyful freedom ride in the car to my foster home. I rode nicely and know that I would enjoy lots more car rides in my future.
I guess you could say that I am quite silly, seek attention and sort of act like an awkward teenager-haha.
I allow all-over handing but am mouthy. Even though it’s all in good fun, I’ll need to be reminded that that’s not polite behavior especially from a big pup like me.
I will bounce around other dogs to entice them to play. I’m definitely playful but will back off from dogs who don’t want my silly attention. I have good instincts with my fellow canines.
I love my human friends and am affectionate and affiliative. I have a good strong tug and love to engage my humans with toys; I'm always ready for a good game of fetch. My foster mom says my new humans should be ready to get me lots of toys...and maybe even a bone to chew on!
I’ll need an adopter who wants to do training with me as I haven’t had much. My toy drive will actually make training super fun.
I need practice walking on leash and do pull hard….The leash is actually quite foreign to me right now. I’m sure with some guidance I’ll get the hang of it quickly.
I do bark excitedly at cats although everything is quite new to me.
I’ll benefit from an experienced, strong, active adopter who wants a big goofy playmate.
I’ll be waiting with my foster family in Oakley. Hope to meet you!
