Hi friends! My name is Hal & I’m looking for a FURever home. See, I'm a friendly guy who's about 6 years old. I found myself at the Shelter when I was hit by a car. I'm all healed up now! However, when the Vet team did x-rays they noticed my hips might not be super. They said I have something called dysplasia. It can be managed & it’s not bothering me at all now, but the nice people say I'm going to need very special people to adopt me because, well I'm a special guy.

After I’d been at the shelter for 6 weeks, the lady who met me came back & took me home! I like it here, but I really want my own family. I’m living with 3 other large dogs & get along with them. I can be a little pushy when there’s food involved. I REALLY like it when people pet me & will push the other dogs out of the way so they can pet me more. I like soft doggie beds & food & pets & they say I’m at the ideal weight for me. Oh and I LOVE to snuggle!

I do pretty good on leash and I’d really like someone to walk with every day so I can get better! If you speak sternly to me it kinda scares me so I’d like someone who understands that I’m a soft boy who really wants to please my people. I use the doggie door like a perfect gentleman & go outside to go potty. Like a lot of GSDs I do like to talk a bit. I don't talk all the time, but I'll let you know if I feel there's something going on or if I get excited.

Hal's ideal family would be able to commit to loving this handsome, soft boy and have few stairs in the home. Hal would be fine as an only dog, but has demonstrated his ability to live with other similar sized dogs. His ideal dog family members would be easy going so they don’t get offended by him hogging attention.  Dysplasia can take many paths. With proper weight management, good supplements & moderate but regular exercise we've seen great results. He needs a home with no cats or small dogs. Do you have room in your heart for Hal? Hal will be waiting with his foster family in Lodi.
