This is a courtesy post for Pets In Need, whose mission is to advance the no-kill movement, reduce pet homelessness, and find every dog and cat a loving home.

Chico is a 4 year old 88 lbs GSD.

Calling all German Shepherd lovers! Chico is a gorgeous GSD who came to our shelter after a lengthy stay at a shelter in the Central Valley. This boy has already served his time and we're hoping to find a forever home for him, STAT!

He's energetic and playful (quite silly, actually!) and a huge fan of both squeaky and stuffed toys. Once he’s tired himself out with yard playtime or a long walk, Chico is ready to cuddle. Yes, this XL-sized boy thinks he’s a big ole lap dog! It’s pretty darn cute. He’ll roll over for a belly rub… and then roll his way right into your lap.

Chico walks well on leash and is very well behaved on walks. The ideal home for Chico will have large breed dog experience and will be interested in pursuing further training with him. We'd recommend no small fries in the home for this guy, unless they're used to big dogs and knock-over-proof. If you're looking for a GSD to walk, hike, and maybe even bike with, come meet Chico!
