German Shepherd Dog, male, 3 years old and 68 pounds.

This people-pleasing and loving dog came to the shelter with an injured eyelid, and tested positive for Heartworm. His eye is now on the mend, and the shelter will treat him for heartworm. Carter has a nice, easy, gentle personality. He enjoys sniffing around and hanging with people. But his favorite thing is getting scratched RIGHT on the base of his tail!
