Thank you so much for sponsoring me Robin Altman and Joel McNearney! Woof, woof!

Hi! I’m Kota. I’m a petite young lady GSD weighing in at about 55 pounds and I'm about 18 months old.

I was rescued by good Samaritans who kept me safe while they looked for my family but to no avail. Luckily, they contacted BAGSR who have graciously offered to help me find a new home.

On my way to meet my friends at BAGSR some bees or wasps stung me and my face got so swollen! I’m on the mend though-actually completely back to normal except for the silly bald patches on my face that will take a few weeks to fill in. I hope my new family will keep me safe from bees, wasps and all other similar insects as it could be dangerous for me to be stung again.

I have a very sweet demeanor. I'm super friendly with people and dogs too. I have a rough and tumble play style with other dogs and I love to play chase! I don’t resource guard my ball or toys and will happily give them up if one of my dog friends wants a turn.

I saw a cat at the vet and backed away. I may be cat workable but am quite playful so may try to chase at first without supervision.

I am curious yet cautious when experiencing new things and will need typical socialization to continue to build my confidence. I walk nicely on leash and do not pull on a regular martingale; ongoing leash work will ensure that I maintain and even improve my good leash manners. I also need to continue to learn the obedience skills that all good dogs should know. Of course dog school sounds pretty fun!

I still display typical puppy behavior. I like to jump up on people to say hi and am still a bit mouthy but correct easily when told to stop.

Something you should know about me is that I am very curious and can be precocious at times. When I see something on the counter or table, I have no problem just taking it. I have been known to get into the garbage and yep-I will steal food off the counter. I obviously need to learn and practice good house manners and should be crated or confined when left alone at first.

I love to be out and about and really enjoy car rides.

With guidance and love, I am sure to grow into an awesome companion. I hope you’d like to meet me. I’ll be waiting with my foster mom in Oakland.
