JAVA
September 1, 2018
German Shepherd Dog female, 1 year old and 57 pounds.
UPDATE 9/1: Intrepid volunteer, Janette, took Java out for a walk. Her report tells us that right now, Java is leash reactive to other dogs--when they are behind her, but she's ok when walking towards other dogs. Java also had her photo session and an off-leash play yard romp. Here's what we observed about this good looking, young German Shepherd Dog: Java is very enthusiastic and has loads of energy. She jumps up (so no young children in her new home). She really took to the photographer, and spent a few minutes giving him kisses. Java knows SIT, LAY DOWN and SHAKE, and she responds immediately to those commands. She also reacts to corrections, i.e. when she jumps up. Java will need a guardian who will work with her on her basic manners and training. We think Java will be a quick study, given her breed and how she interacted with us. With consistency and dedication, Java is going to blossom into an awesome dog, companion, and best friend.
