My name is Diamond. I’m an 8 year old 90 pound GSD.

My awesome foster mom rescued me from the shelter where I was being dropped off by my previous owner who had me since I was a pup. The shelter is no place for us older girls and I am so grateful that my new friends are helping me find my very own home where I can live indoors and be part of a loving family.

I have been to the vet, am up to date on vaccinations, and verified to be in good health. I can afford to lose a few pounds but who can’t - haha. Besides those few extra pounds will come off quickly with a healthy diet and as I build up to long leisurely walks. I’m a little stiff but as I get out and about more, I’ll build some muscle and loosen my joints. I am learning about leash walks and still pull a little - I didn’t get walks in my old life. I get excited and a bit distracted when I get close to other dogs but do listen when I’m told to “leave it”. I’ll need practice meeting and being around other dogs although I have lived with a dog in my previous life.

I’m not sure if I would like cats or not.

I have a gentle disposition and I am a friendly well-behaved lady. I meet new people gently and appropriately and am good with small respectful children.

I’m looking for someone to show me new things, make me part of the family and of course love me. I will need a family who will patiently introduce met to new things as I really have only seen a backyard for all of my life. My foster mom has been taking me out to see and smell new things and I really love it. I’m definitely hoping to do more exploring!

Even though I haven’t really been exposed to much, I am a secure, stable girl. I was with the same family for a long time so I may feel a bit out of sorts until I get to know my new people and new surroundings. However, I’m sure to adapt easily.

I’m a good listener and will work hard to learn the rules of my new household. A consistent leader will really help me settle in nicely. I have moderate energy and will make a steadfast companion. It would be great for me to live with people who are around a lot and who will show me the joy that it is to live inside with a family.

I will shine both inside and out with the loving companionship of my new family. My friends say I am a special jewel and that someone will be lucky to have me. I can’t wait to get settled into my future.

I’ll be waiting with my awesome foster mom in San Ramon.
