My name is Amelia! I’m a healthy, 2 year old girl GSD tipping the scales at a petite 50 pounds and I have a long black and tan coat.
I am a sweet and gentle girl. I am friendly and love to engage with people.
I'm also smart and would benefit from someone who wants to continue to teach me things. I'm a good listener and I would really love to go to dog school! There I can learn stuff, meet new people and see lots of other dogs. Because I’m on the sensitive side, positive reinforcement training is really all that’s necessary with me; but like all of us GSDs, fair and consistent leadership is important and will ensure a tight bond among the family. I also love treats and take them gently.
I absolutely love to play with other dogs. A family that includes another dog who is a high energy player like me would be so great. I play hard and don't always read other dogs' body language that well cause I just want to play. Not all dogs appreciate that.
If I don't have a dog sibling, I'll need a family who can spend lots of time with me and include me in family activities. I am happy and athletic. I don't want to be left alone for long periods of time on a regular basis. I'm not destructive if left alone; I'm just an extrovert. I thrive with attention and companionship. I can get vocal when I'm bored.
I'm pretty easy out and about and I meet people with enthusiasm. I sometimes bark a few times when I see another dog; I just get so excited.
My friends at BAGSR say that I am clever and resourceful so I'll need a well secured yard at my new home. If I get bored, I may start looking for ways to get out and explore. I crate just fine...but please see above. I like to do stuff. I'm not really a dog that would enjoy being left at home alone all day.
I haven’t met any cats so I don’t know if I’ll like them or chase them, but I do like to chase raccoons.
My friends say that I am a darling little girl and that I’ll make a delightful companion dog.
I’ll be waiting in Windsor. I hope you’d like to meet me!
