We are so very happy for Rocky and his mom, AND his new dad.  Rocky's new dad went to meet Rocky on January 4th.  The attraction was immediate for New Dad and Rocky; best of all, Rocky's mom and New Dad really liked each other.  Mom couldn't be happier for her boy Rocky.

BAGSR is very happy to be able to help owners find great homes for their beloved dogs.  And, we're very happy that wonderful people come to us to find their new family members. :)

Most of our dogs are evaluated and fostered by us, so we learn about their temperament and personality and can provide you with our best opinion on each dog.

Our goal is to help German Shepherds find loving homes.  As an additional service we are also presenting dogs that are still living with their owners.  The owner has decided to give up the dog but does not want it to go to a shelter.  They are keeping the dog until the right family comes along.  We have not evaluated this dog. However, we can put you directly in touch with the owner and provide you with the opportunity to meet the owner and the dog.

Rocky is 2.5years old and weighs 66 pounds.  His owner would prefer not to give him up, however, she recently became ill and is no longer able to care for Rocky.  He is a great boy!

We asked his owner to describe him in a few words "loyal, friendly, happy, enthusiastic, love his pack"

Rocky will alarm bark if a stranger approaches the house.  However the moment his pack leader welcome the stranger, he is a friend.  He is wonderful with all people.

He has all the basic commands in order and sleeps in the house

If he sees other dogs he is keen to play and will bark and be excited until he's told to stop.  He is fine with other dogs.

Rocky has some prey drive and will chase squirrels out of the yard.  We do not know how he is with cats

He has no medical issues and all his vaccinations are up to date.  He is neutered and chipped.

If you'd like to adopt Rocky please let your adoption counselor know.  You can also phone our hotline, or email us clicking the button on the right.  You will need to complete an adoption application and be interviewed by us.  We all want the best for Rocky!  We will then put you in touch with the owner.

As a help to you, here are a few questions you might think about asking the owner:

Why are you giving up your dog?

People - How is your dog with men, women and young kids?

Health - how is the dogs health?

Energy - Would you describe your dog mellow, typical, active, hyper active?

Prior ownership - Where did you get your dog?

Training - Does the dog have basic obedience? Is it house or crate trained. How is it in the car?

Aggression - Has your dog ever bitten or nipped anyone?

Separation - If the dog is left alone for a few hours what does it do?

How do I
adopt this dog?
