Paloma was born on January 16th 2013 and is a lovely girl who has not really experienced life yet. She was surrendered simply because her owners had a young daughter and they were worried she might be knocked over. Hence, the daughter was the focus and Paloma missed out on the things a young girl should be doing.
She is an impressive girl, in great condition. She has huge feet and already weighs over 70 pounds and is not overweight.
We only just got to know her, but her foster dad reports that she is great with dogs with no reactivity and appropriate greetings. she is shy but nice with people. Because she missed out on so many experiences she is nervous of new things at first. She has sit and stay and clearly knows the basics.
Paloma will need an owner who has trained large working breed dogs and understands socialization, dog temperament and building the confidence of a dog. She is going to be a superb girl with the right home.

Sparky joined us yesterday and he's 12 weeks old. Did we hear the word cute?
He is an owner surrender to us because his owners knew they couldn't give him what he needed. Sparky needs his shots and a neuter, and then he'll be available for adoption. In the meantime, he will be in foster care getting socialized.
This gorgeous German Shepherd Dog was born on February 11, 2014. Until just recently, Sparky hadn't met other dogs nor lots of people. But when we held a puppy party for him, he took about 10 minutes to get acclimated, and then he was a pro. He's a happy guy, gives sloppy licks, is not mouthy and is on his way to potty training. As a typical puppy, he likes to dig, rip up cloth toys and steal things. He will need diligent training and a strong leader; and then, he will be a great pup. Actually, he's already a great pup, but let's get started on his training now so he'll be an even better pup.
Sparky is a level 4 German Shepherd Dog which means he is a puppy. BAGSR knows that an experienced working breed puppy owner is the best person to give Sparky the most successful life he can have.

Today was another GSD rescue as we drove over two hours north to Mendocino to save another girl. Her name is Mystic and she is quite lovely.
She is a German Shepherd for Adoption, weighs about 65 pounds, needs a bit of training and a confident leader. We'll publish more on her page and our Facebook page over the coming days.

Charlie Bug is growing up wonderfully well and is a wonderful addition to our dogs in German Shepherd Rescue. He's almost one and is a Malinois. He's a lot of dog for the right owner. Special thanks to volunteer Robb Nardy for this wonderful photo.
