Bay Area German Shepherd Rescue

This Sunday we were at the wonderful Dairydell Canine training facility in Petaluma.  We were alongside MILO, California Pitbull Rescue, California Golden Retriever Rescue and others meeting hundreds of people who wanted to see and learn about dogs.

This is the annual Dogapalooza event.

The event featured training demonstrations from the team at Dairydell, low cost vaccinations from VIP and the presence of Petfood Express.  We arrived at 10:30 and left at 4pm having had a wonderful time meeting lots of German Shepherd rescue lovers.

We had a wonderful day in Santa Rosa alongside our friends from Green Dog rescue.  Else was adopted and many people came by.  Thanks to all our volunteers for helping the dogs!

Did you know that we have a meet up group?  Each month you can meet with volunteers, owners and their German Shepherds?

Great night in Pleasanton with the dogs and their peeps. Two owners were concerned that their dogs wouldn't do well socially. EVERYONE did great!! MeetUp provides a lot of opportunities for our dogs - socializing with people, dogs and in public; training and manners; showing people how great our breed can be and much more.

We used March and April as our 'practice' months in preparation for the official First Wednesday Downtown Celebration from May thru September. Consider putting May 7th on your calendar to join us for this uber downtown fun!

If you are interested in joining up with our group, send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Another amazing day with so many wonderful volunteers, dogs and people stopping by.

We're going to be showing off our wonderful dogs at the Danville Pet Food Express this Saturday from 11am - 2pm.  Come out and say hi, we'd all love to meet you!  For more information, including directions click here.

Our dogs are super smart and learn very quickly with the right direction.  We are often asked to recommend a dog trainer by people who adopt their new dog.  Our belief is that trainer works with you to help you train your dog. Over the coming days and weeks we will be creating a list with contacts.  We will only list trainers that our members have personally worked with and recommend.

Based in Novato, they offer an extraordinary range of training and behavior classes at very affordable prices. Many of our volunteers have undertaken their dog training classes with their personal dogs.  We are huge fans of Dawn and her entire team. See them on line here and call them on (415) 883-4621

Lisa Caper runs DogOvation covering Marin County.  Several of our volunteers have worked with her and they give great reports.  Like all the best trainers her focus is more on training the owner to train the dog.  You can read all about Lisa's philosophy on her website here and phone her at : (415) 299-1158
