This weekend in San Rafael is the annual Bay Area Pet Fair & Adoptathon. We went down to see what was going on. It was very hot and very busy and we met many friends in the rescue business. It does not matter whether it's rabbits, cats, dogs or even chickens. We all do it because we care for these animals (and birds).
The Bay Area Pet Fair and Adoptathon is a large 2 day event that features exhibitions from the Novato and San Rafael K9 teams, dock diving and many other interesting activities. Once again, our friends at Petfood Express are a major sponsor and organizer. The event is outdoors and indoors.
Next year we will have our own stand for Bay Area German Shepherd Rescue. We felt that this year was too soon for us to ask our volunteers to spend 2 days on their feet talking with thousands of visitors.
Dave and Roxanne and the whole crew at DogTrekker were there doing a wonderful job and offering a sensational prize of a weekend stay at a spa. Rocket Dogs were crazy busy. We also met up with California Animal Rescue who we see at our Santa Rosa event.
We chatted with Christine and our friends at Golden State German Shepherd Rescue. They were flying the flag for German Shepherds. They are an awesome team and group and do an amazing job for the dogs. Special mention to Jane and the whole team at Norsled who specialize in rescuing Huskies.
If you love dogs, the Bay Area Pet Fair and Adoptathon is alot of fun! You'll see it advertised everywhere a few weeks before it happens.
