Skye

Skye is doing great in her new home.  We just received this picture of her on Baker Beach

Al, in one of the pictures, is not available for adoption.  He already has a very nice, loving furever home.

Sky has been with us long enough now to be healthy.  She's put on weight, she's confident and energetic.  Skye is quite affectionate, and she likes people; she would love to hang with her human, or go on daily long hikes or runs.  Skye lacked any training whatsoever; in rescue, she is learning that there are rules, and she has to follow them.  She is a bit hard-headed, but we believe that because she had never been corrected and didn't even know that "no" was a correction.  Skye is learning, and she will continue to learn with a strong, consistent leader.

Skye has been living with several other foster dogs.  While she can be good in that situation, Skye would do best in this type of environment:

She will learn best as an only dog, with a strong leader.  Her human will need to dedicate daily training, socialization and hard exercise time.  They say a tired dog is a good dog... that's because they're so tired they can't do anything wrong.  Yes, that's funny, but it's so true.  Skye has a tall, thin frame, and will be a great exercise buddy!  She will learn to trust, and from that she will learn who her leader is.  She will realize she doesn't make up her own rules, but will be rewarded because she's listening, learning and demonstrating good behavior.

Skye recently had an accidental meeting with a neighborhood cat.  After discussing the situation with Professional Test Kitty,  (you can meet test kitty here) we've determined that Skye will make a great critter chaser.  We've always said there's a dog out there for everyone, and if one of your criteria is to keep critters from your yard, Skye will certainly do the trick.

If you're looking for a great training project, with very high energy... one who will easily learn from consistency, ultimately becoming a really nicely settled dog, ask us to set up a time for you to meet Skye.

Our dogs cost on average well over $600 for medical treatment, micro chips, food, etc. if you could spare even a few dollars for Skye, please click "Sponsor Me" on the right hand side of this page. Thanks from Skye and all of us.
