FURST, the first dog we officially pulled into our program, finally is healthy enough to fly the coop. At 2.5 months, he entered the shelter with a severely broken leg. His foster dad took great care of the leg, dressing it every few days for 3 months, and we recently got the good news Furst is as healthy as possible.

Furst joins a huge family of people of all ages and sizes, along with many other dogs. Furst is a Malinois, and he has all the working qualities of a true mal. Due to his leg break, he won't work, but he will have the benefit of 'playing' with a sleeve. *wink*

Good luck little buddy. We know you're going to have a great life with your new family.

Furst is a 3-4 month old little Malinois pup.  He has a significan't break to his leg and may have surgery to expedite recuperation.  But that doesn't stop this little spitfire.  He walks on his peg-leg like it were his own. He runs on concrete or through the house with no problem at all.

In two days, Furst got the routine down perfectly.  He piddles outside, and he found his favorite spot to poop; he knows exactly what to do.  He sleeps nicely in his crate, and his hang time is there so to maximize safe recuperation.

Furst will be the typical Mal in intelligence, energy and happiness.  He is uber friendly with all people and likes to follow dogs around wherever they go.  His injuries are from a dog attacking him, so he is cautious but hangs out nicely.

Furst will require months of recuperation but if he finds his furever home during that time, he can certainly become part of his family early.  He is in the East bay.
