Hi! I’m Clark-yep as in Clark Kent!

I’m a one year old German Shepherd boy pup and 65 pounds of FUN! When people see me here at Homeward Bound they are intrigued about why I’m here amongst all of these beautiful blondies.  Well a good Samaritan found me while I was out on adventure and the nice folks at Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue have been kind enough to let me stay here for a while and get me ready for my new family. I do fit in though and my new friends use words like sweet, affectionate and adorable when describing me.

I don’t quite match all of the qualities of a Golden and I may look like a mild mannered guy but I am all German Shepherd Dog-haha. I’ll need a companion who knows about us working breeds and has an active lifestyle. I like to do stuff. Hiking, agility, obedience trials….the sky’s the limit. Sounds fun doesn’t it?

I know many of the basics already like sit and down and I come when I’m called. I’m also getting pretty good walking on leash. I’ll need someone who can commit to formal training, spend lots of quality time working with me, and who can provide the kind of life a super hero boy like me deserves. I will repay you tenfold with love and devotion.…and we sure will make some memories!

I am affectionate, love people and I like to offer up my tummy for rubs.

I really enjoy playing with other dogs. Something you should know about me is that I am a rough and tumble, high energy player so I would not be a great fit if you have elderly or frail dogs who need to relax. But I would love a high energy player dog sibling just like me or a dog friend to play with now and then! That would be super fun.

I’m still a bit mouthy which is not uncommon with us GSD youngsters. I’m getting better though especially as I learn what is expected of me.

I love the idea of a good cat chase so living with one is probably not the best plan; no cats for me please.

No one knows for sure if I am housebroken but I do not like to soil in my kennel so that may be a clue. Plus I am a GSD so I’ll likely learn the rules of my new household rather quickly.

I recently went on a field trip to Pet Food Express and was really good. I did want to play wit a couple of dogs but when I was reminded that it wasn't the time or place, I just sat down curiously as instructed and watched all of the busyness in the store.

I had a bath while I was there in that very busy place and I calmly took my bath and watched all of the other dogs walk by.

All my vetting is done. I have been checked over, neutered and prepared for my forever family. If you are looking for a lifetime partner in adventure and you have experience with young working breeds then I would love to meet you.

If you are looking for an active, fun companion, I will be waiting in Elverta. I hope you’d like to meet me! I really hope I can be home for Mothers' Day....even if I get a dad!
