Bay Area German Shepherd Rescue

On Saturday Echo found her furever home.  She's a very lucky girl!

Thunder is a very lucky boy.  He has gone to his furever home in Petaluma with Lesley-Anne and Bryce and their 3 year old boxer.  He will now be known as "Moose".

Fifteen dogs found their furever homes in October.  Amazing team effort from our volunteers, donors, sponsors, partners and of course adopters!

Today we were at Woodlands Pet Food and Treats in Novato.  We met lots of people and two really awesome dogs.  Chief, right, is a 10 year old german Shepherd.  Millie, center, is a black GSD and Cola (left) is a 3 year old Dutch Shepherd.

Today Travis took what we hope will be a journey to his furever home.  It's incredible to see this wonderful dog and think that somebody put him in a taxi and abandoned him in Petaluma. Natalie, Heidi and the wonderful team at Petaluma Animal Services fixed a dental issue and called us.

Travis has been with us for a couple of weeks since then and Keri, Mara, Dawn and our friends at Marin Humane Services helped us get him neutered.  This weekend Sheila and Bruce drove up from Los Angeles, fell in love, as did Travis.  He jumped into their car as a happy camper and was off.

Many have asked why we called him Travis. He was our first Taxi Driven German Shepherd Dog!

Trainers2

Our dogs are super smart and learn very quickly with the right direction.  We are often asked to recommend a dog trainer by people who adopt their new dog.  Our belief is that trainer works with you to help you train your dog. Over the coming days and weeks we will be creating a list with contacts.  We will only list trainers that our members have personally worked with and recommend.

Based in Novato, they offer an extraordinary range of training and behavior classes at very affordable prices. Many of our volunteers have undertaken their dog training classes with their personal dogs.  We are huge fans of Dawn and her entire team. See them on line here and call them on (415) 883-4621

Lisa Caper runs DogOvation covering Marin County.  Several of our volunteers have worked with her and they give great reports.  Like all the best trainers her focus is more on training the owner to train the dog.  You can read all about Lisa's philosophy on her website here and phone her at : (415) 299-1158
