Bay Area German Shepherd Rescue

On October and 16th in San Rafael at the Marin Fair grounds.  We think is the best event of the year and we'll be there again for the 3rd time.  Our friends at Petfood Express are the organizers and there will be all sorts of fun activities from K9 demos, a splash pool, dog tricks, many rescues and of course, we will be there.

Hi everyone, we are having a party in Martinez at the Contra Costa Animal Shelter at Noon on Sunday 25th.

Check out the poster for the address!  Hope to see you!

GOODBYE AUGUST - Another amazing month - 40% more dogs helped versus 2015. Thanks to everyone who played a part.

For the second month running we added many volunteers in new roles. Allison setting up new fosters, Emma working CraigsList, fritS and MaryLouise joined our Hotline, Chad chasing payments, Jon making sure dogs are in Sugar and Deb getting dogs microchipped. It takes a great team to keep saving even more dogs.

Incredibly, that's 9 back to back record months since November last year and we're already off to a great start in September.

Yesterday Donna joined our foster team to support fosters and Cathryn just started writing bios. Tomorrow Kathy is going to start to lead our transport efforts and Tatyana is taking over as match maker on our rehome project!

So here's to 10 straight record months and more dogs helped than we ever imagined. We have big plans ahead!

It's with deep sadness that we report the passing of Brian Edwards.  He sustained severe head injuries last week in a wake board accident at lake Sonoma. Brian was just 32.

Brian adored Champ and Champ felt the same way.

Brian's dad contacted us to let us know that they have asked family and friends to donate in honor of Brian.

Make sure you that you are are kind to the people you care about today.

Valentine's Day 2017 will be with us before we know it.  Please mark you calendars.

Trainers2

Our dogs are super smart and learn very quickly with the right direction.  We are often asked to recommend a dog trainer by people who adopt their new dog.  Our belief is that trainer works with you to help you train your dog. Over the coming days and weeks we will be creating a list with contacts.  We will only list trainers that our members have personally worked with and recommend.

Based in Novato, they offer an extraordinary range of training and behavior classes at very affordable prices. Many of our volunteers have undertaken their dog training classes with their personal dogs.  We are huge fans of Dawn and her entire team. See them on line here and call them on (415) 883-4621

Lisa Caper runs DogOvation covering Marin County.  Several of our volunteers have worked with her and they give great reports.  Like all the best trainers her focus is more on training the owner to train the dog.  You can read all about Lisa's philosophy on her website here and phone her at : (415) 299-1158
